Dieting is really difficult when you are not familiar with your way around the kitchen. Spices are not only essential for taste, but their power to influence your health. There are nine spices you should add to your recipes to optimize your weight loss. They are almond, black pepper, chile, coconut, fenugreek seed, kokum, oregano, pomegranate, and turmeric. Now, let’s get cooking with spices for weight loss.

Almonds

Almond is a spice? Almonds are really a seed from the fruit of an almond tree. By definition, dried out seeds are spices.

City of Hope National Medical Center in California discovered people who ate 2.5 ounces of almonds per day after six months of data, they discovered the people eating almonds lost 60% more weight and 50% more belly fat than those in the control group.

When you add almonds to your diet, chew each mouthful 25 times and you will find your hunger suppressed.

How to reap the benefits

It’s been shown that a handful of almonds five times a week leads to weight loss. Almonds are calorie crowded. Be mindful of eating only a handful, at most, twice a day. Majority of their fat comes from good monounsaturated fatty acids. A handful of almonds supplies between 150 to 200 calories.

Add Almonds to a salad for extra crunch, or my absolute favorite is almond encrusted chicken. I‘ll have to try it with salmon.

Black Pepper

During the Middle Ages, black pepper was seen as more valuable than gold. Social status was based on how much black pepper you had in your home. The best black pepper you can purchase is Tellicherry peppercorns. Malabar Garbled No. 1 signifies top-grade cleaned peppercorns. It’s best to buy them whole. Once ground, pepper starts to lose its health benefits. Black pepper may help prevent and or treat Alzheimer’s disease, Arthritis, Cancer, Depression, Dysphagia, Falls, Hearing Loss, Heart disease, High Blood Pressure, Indigestion, Memory loss, Neurologically damaged children, smoking addiction, Thyroid problems and Vitiligo.
